Advances in Nuclear Nonproliferation Technology & Policy Conference (ANTPC)

Starts:  Sep 25, 2016 08:00 AM (MT)
Ends:  Sep 30, 2016 05:00 PM (MT)

The second topical (and first stand alone) meeting organized by the American Nuclear Society’s Nuclear Nonproliferation Policy Division will be taking place in Santa Fe, New Mexico, from September 25-30, 2016. This conference seeks to build upon previous ANS topical conferences on nuclear fuel cycle technology, facility safeguards, and nonproliferation technology development. The goal is to stimulate conversation among nuclear science researchers, facilities operators, and policy makers, with an agenda that will include sessions on current trends in nuclear material and fuel cycle technology developments as they relate to safeguards, treaty verification, and broader nonproliferation policy. These sessions, combined with panel discussions, will provide a venue for discussions on relevant policy and technical needs in nonproliferation.

We are excited to announce that we will be featuring three workshops: MCNP6 Correlated Fission Capabilities and the MCNP Associated Packages: Intrinsic Source Calculator, MCNPTools, and DRiFTSocial Media for Nonproliferation; and a 2-day Uncertainty Quantification for Nondestructive Assay. Each event will feature interactive engagement on state-of-the-art technologies and methods in nuclear nonproliferation by experts in the field.

We’re also pleased to announce our plenary speakers: Charles McMillan, Los Alamos National Laboratory Director, and Hans Blix, former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
