Bio

Jerry Hicks retired from Rocky Flats and NNSA at the end of 2015 with a total of 38 years nuclear employment, the last 27 of that in criticality safety.  Work locations included Rocky Flats, Paducah, design for facilities proposed for Savannah River and Idaho, and the assistance to NNSA field offices in oversight of criticality Safety.  He still serves as a member of the DOE Criticality Safety Support Group.  He has supported development of ANS standards since 1992, Including ANSI/ANS 8.1, 8.3, 8.5, 8.10, 8.22, 8.23, 8.24, and 8.28.  He has served as a member of the Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities Consensus Committee and now serves as a member of the ANS-8 subcommittee.  He supported development of DOE regulations in the early in the early 1990s and from 2005 to 2015.  Jerry received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1976.
