    Notice # 1:

The recording from today's RIPB Community of Practice (CoP) presentation titled "Update on Xe-100 Implementation of NEI 18-04" by Kyle Metzroth with X-energy has just been posted to RP3C's webpage.  The direct link to today's recording on YouTube is https://youtu.be/yAGtRdIYnMM.

    Notice #2:

Proposed standard ANS-2.18, Evaluating Radionuclide Transport in Surface Water for Nuclear Reactor and Nuclear Facility Sites, is looking for additional working group members.  No previous standard was issued on the topic of the surface water transport of radionuclides released from nuclear facilities during normal operation or accidents. Operating power reactor facilities and proposed new reactor sites must demonstrate compliance of dose limits stipulated in 10CFR 20 for the protection of public against radiation.  The critical exposure pathways of transport of radioactive liquid effluent for many facilities are through the groundwater system that subsequently enter the surface water environment. This new standard aims at providing a standard framework and recommended methods to deal with surface water transport of radionuclide in liquid releases. The working group is looking for individuals with background on contaminant transport analysis and modeling in surface water and if possible, groundwater.  There are no travel requirements, just participation through virtual means. Anyone interested is asked to contact me directly at pschroeder@ans.org.
